Our Vision is:
| In the 2010 the Fondo Ambiental will be the main reference as a model of resources management for the facilitation and support to the sustainable development, based on the environmental conservation / restoring of the Distrito Metropolitano de Quito, acting under solid strategic alliances and productive with the civil company, its organizations, productive sectors and principal companies, contributing to the improvement of the life quality of the inhabitants of the Distrito through a balanced and healthy environment |
The Mission of the Fondo Ambiental is:
| To Be a transparent instrument and facilitator of resources that prompts sustainable initiatives of conservation, restoring and management of the environmental quality based on social processes of participation and responsibility shared with private and public companies and the civil company, which contribute to solve or to mitigate the environmental problems and its effects on the health and the life quality of the inhabitants of the Distrito with equity and transparency. |
In this way, the Fondo Ambiental orients its efforts toward the facilitation in the implementation of plans, programs and projects through the partial not refundable financing of proposals that promote fundamentally, the conservation and the local sustainable development through processes whose objectives are focused toward:
- The improvement of the environmental quality of the rural, urban and peripheral areas of the DMQ.
- The development of management models for the conservation – exploitation of the natural capital with a territorial base.
- In its case, the environmental restoring – recovery of the natural systems and the biodiversity.
- The interdisciplinary scientific and technological investigation (economic, social, and environmental sciences) relating to the conservation of ecosystems, the biodiversity, the natural resources and the environmental management.
- The training, the environmental education and interpretation of the nature.
- The economic sustainability, the social equity, the management enforcement and the cultural identity related to the environmental environment.
- The civic participation, the inspector’s office and the social communication in the environmental management.
The Fondo Ambiental supports fundamentally the national and local efforts inherent in the territorial jurisdiction of the DMQ according to the Environmental Politics established by the Municipio Metropolitano considering for the effect, the priority thematic areas, the proposals eligibility criteria and financial conditions determined by the Administrative Committee.
Similarly, the Fondo can destine its resources to afford in a complementary way other financial sources, being these public or private, and national or international that have as an objective to prompt compatible processes with those of that the Fondo pursues.
In this context, the quality politics of the Fondo Ambiental are:
- The continuous institutional improvement for the facilitation of processes and resources in support to the company,
- The improvement of the environment quality,
- The improvement of the life quality and satisfaction of the inhabitants of the Distrtito Metropolitano de Quito.
